Artist Statement

My work exists between memory and possibility.

Growing up between rural Alabama, Virginia and Southern California, I was shaped by many visual languages—Southern traditions, hip hop, graffiti, skateboarding, surf culture, street fashion, and the graphic energy of New York and Los Angeles. Music, especially neo-soul, taught me that complexity and restraint could coexist. Design taught me structure. Illustrations and painting became the place where those influences could breathe.

Working primarily in illustration and abstraction, I create works that function like emotional artifacts. Layers of color, gesture, symbols, and recurring forms become fragments of conversations between the past and the future. I am interested in transformation—how culture evolves, how identity shifts, and how humanity adapts within increasingly technological environments.

Influenced by Afrofuturism and ideas surrounding transhumanism, I imagine my work as contemporary relics: records of memory and speculation at once. Some pieces suggest figures or organic forms, others resemble maps, symbols, or unfinished languages. Rather than providing answers, I want the work to leave room for interpretation and reflection.

Ultimately, I am searching for what remains human—spirit, memory, rhythm, and connection—in a world that is constantly changing.
